Rainy Day

It was another rainy day at the Haunted Graveyard. While the rest of the state was pretty dry it drizzled all day around Lake Compounce. Bryan, Justin, Chris, and I moved all of the old Temple props from the show to our storage area. That was pretty much it since it for the day since it was too wet to use power tools.

More Temple takedown and cleanup

Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day yesterday.

Today it was just Bryan and me at the Graveyard. We started by taking down the small room next to the sacrifice room and then by taking down the bottomless pit thing. The Bottomless pit cave was pretty difficult to take down but with a lot of cutting we were eventually able to collapse it. We then filled the dumpster as much as we could so Ernie could get it taken away tomorrow.

Temple cleanup again

Today was more of the same as yesterday. We continued to clean up the Temple area. The dumpster is filling up nicely.

Temple cleanup

We started today by putting the cinder blocks and some metal sheet roofing into the box truck and taking to our storage area. The rest of the day was mostly just throwing all of the Temple panels into a dumpster. The area is looking a little cleaner now but there is still a lot to go.

Temple Ball area take down

We started today by taking down the ball area of Temple. The ball itself is the only thing of Temple that is not coming down. We took down all the canvas, chicken wire and anything else that was on the walls.

While Justin and I were taking that stuff down Ernie worked with a tow truck to get the box truck unstuck. Bryan arrived a little after they got the box truck unstuck and we switched to finish putting the Tunnel of Light in the dumpster. Since we finally got a new dumpster sometime last week we also cleaned up the area with the stuff we dumped there a few weeks ago.
After lunch we went back to taking the rest of the panels around the ball area down. We also moved a lot of cinder blocks that we don't use anymore before we left for the day.

Stuck Truck

Justin and I were on vacation in Las Vegas last week so today was our first day back at the Graveyard. Ernie and Bryan got the Manor facade into a dumpster while we were away. I'm not sure what else they did. (I have to try and get Bryan and Ernie to post here.)

Today started out with me getting stuck in traffic. When I got to the Graveyard Chris and Bryan were there getting the flatbed started.

When Ernie and Justin got there we started putting the Tunnel of Light into a dumpster. It was going fine until Bryan got the box truck stuck right before we were about to grab the last load. We tried to get it unstuck with Bryan's truck but it would not move. We are going to have to get more help tomorrow to get it out.

While we were waiting to try and get help from Compounce we talked about the end of trail 2, spider, and Tunnel of Light area. We decided on some big changes and the area overall should be a lot better and more exciting then it was.

Rainy Day

Today it was raining on and off so we decided to try and mostly stay inside and clean up a little. Bryan cleaned his work area while Ernie, Justin, and I sorted props into their proper houses. The prop Ernie is holding is something we might put in the new Temple.

Meeting

This afternoon Ernie, Bryan, Kevin, Jesse, Justin, and I met to discuss our ideas for the Graveyard this year. We discussed a lot of topics; everything from lighting and sound to construction to costumes to our website and other web stuff like this blog.

We had some great ideas for Temple, many more that can fit in the space we have for it. Expect Temple to look just as good as Slaughter House does. Temple isn't the only house we are improving though so expect some changes everywhere as we increase the quality of the show as a whole.
